Donald G. Ezzell
President & CEO
As President and CEO Don directs the vision, growth, and client service initiatives of Sentry Trustees. Don has over 25 years of trust advisory, wealth preservation, capital markets, energy resources management, and operating experience in public and private corporations and professional service firms.
Previously, Don also served as a named executive officer and board member of two publicly listed companies, and provided trust advisory, capital markets, investment management, transaction, and corporate law services to public and private clients continuously since 1989. He is a member of the State Bar of Colorado, Texas, California, and Utah. Don received a bachelor’s degree from UCLA in 1985 and a juris doctorate from Hastings College of the Law, University of California, San Francisco, in 1989.
Don also serves as a partner in The General Counsel & Trust Group, P.C. in Denver, and as the CEO of Dallas Energy Group and Owl Creek Energy and their operating divisions engaged in private oil and gas exploration and energy infrastructure investment from the firm’s offices in Denver, Dallas, and Houston.
Christopher C. Shea
Senior Vice President, Trust Officer & Client Advisor
Chris is a Senior Vice President, Trust Officer and Client Advisor responsible for trust administration, investment oversight, analysis, and asset allocation strategies. Previously he was a Managing Director at Citi in Dallas and New York covering multiple equity sectors including Energy Resources and Infrastructure, Asset Managers, and Private Equity. Prior to that, Chris worked for Northern Trust supporting the management of client relationships throughout the western United States.
Chris received his MBA from the University of Texas McCombs Business School with an emphasis in Finance. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas. Chris is a CFA® charterholder and holds the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA™) designation.
Mark C. McConnell
Vice President, Trust Officer & Client Advisor
Mark is a Vice President, Trust Officer and Client Advisor providing trustee, financial and fiduciary services to individuals and their families. He works closely with multi-generational relationships including grantors, trustees, beneficiaries and business owners. His emphasis includes trust and agency administration including fiduciary accounting, investments, finance, real estate, taxes and estate planning.
Mark has over 15 years in the trust and fiduciary services industry. Prior to joining Sentry Trustees, he was a Director, Trust and Estate Services with Wells Fargo Private Bank, Minneapolis, MN and had prior work experience as a Managing Director – Personal Trust for US Trust, San Francisco, CA. Mark received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS and holds the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA™) designation.
Michelle J. Stephens
Trust Administration Officer & Client Advisor
Michelle is a Trust Administration Officer and Client Advisor. She brings over 18 years of banking and trust administration experience to the company. Michelle was previously a bank officer and trust administrator with Wells Fargo and her experience extends beyond work with traditional trust assets to include private businesses, family limited partnerships, commercial real estate and collectibles. She has worked with numerous trust accounting platforms, data integration systems, and custodial vendors all of which assists us with aggregating different reporting systems and multiple investment advisors. She is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Dallas-Fort Worth.
